Chartres Cathedral (the other visits)
We came back to the Cathederal a number of times: for services, to look at the choir screen, to see the light show projected on the outside.
There are 2 blues in the stained glass at Chartres - Chartres Blue and the normal, much darker one. This window of the Virgin shows both. The much lighter Chartres Blue allows in much more light and gives the scene more definition. (click on the thumbnail to see more detail). No wonder it was the pride of Chartres.
